Observation

Keeping a specimen in a clear 3 liter plastic soda container allows us to observe from all angles. Here we see a tarantula with it's food, a cricket, just under it's fangs.

Closer Look

Now, face the camera and smile.

Jump

This jumpping spider is probably an older relative to yesterday's little one. Upon closer inspection we see that it is missing one of it's pedipalps and has eyes in front and around on the back of it's head.

I See U!

Hunting on our patio rail this morning, was this intrepid 1 cm big mustached fellow. It was curious as to why I was following it's every move and looked up at me as if to say "I see u...back off!"

"Come into my parlor..."

"Come into my parlor" said the spider to the fly. (We'll call it an arachnid fable.)

This little one appears to have a surprised face on its abdomen. Like the kid from Home Alone. What fabulous long legs!
